Bruises from Within
Karla Reeves
Karla Reeves lived the things we read about, hear whispers about -- spouse abuse, child abuse, sexual abuse. These are all too familiar, and much too often are denied, hidden behind fake smiles, while the soul is bruised and the heart screams in pain. Karla Reeves grew up in a family culture with generations of denial, of pains kept hidden. Karla's attempt to break the cycle and get out of her abusive relationship was complicated by dyslexia which left her with an inability to read, no job, no driver's license, and isolated far from family. Her courage, perseverance, and faith in God helped her overcome these obstacles. This is the story of her remarkable journey. Karla hopes her story will offer hope and help to other abuse victims.
