Not long ago, I once again found myself hiking up an old mountain trail as a light mist slowly dissipated from the surrounding underbrush. As I neared my destination, I pushed aside a prickly pine bough to reveal ol' Billy Banion slowly rocking in his chair on the worn and creaking planks of his weathered front porch. He smiled when he saw me and waved a welcome, inviting me to join the small assembly that had already gathered 'round. We had all come to hear another tale from ol' Billy's childhood adventures in the backwoods' community of Cades Cove, Tennessee.

And he didn't disappoint.
