Roadmap Hands (and other reaching poems) is an exploration of life in all its polar phases. In chapters of love, heartache, and wonder, we travel a road all the way to the end of a life. From the observations of a small anxious child; to the growing pangs of a young adult, struggling to find themselves in the confusion of exploring sexuality and intense new relationships; to final days of clouded memories, bruised hands, and hospital beds. This collection of poetry reaches for that ideal that growth and change are necessary parts of living. That the road to dying does not necessarily have to be such a scary concept. What it could be-is an invitation to feel as much as possible during the that time we are alive. To welcome sadness, as we do joy. To remain just kids, even in aging, and growing. Somewhere along the way, finding peace in the going.
