Fifteen-year-old Sassy Dan is a door-to-door broom salesperson. She spends her summers tromping through city streets with her dad knocking on doors, hoping for the next big sale. She has had a lot of doors slammed in her face, but she only needs one door to stay open-the one that hides her missing mom. Sassy's mom suffers from anxiety and depression and left three years ago without saying goodbye. Sassy knows she can find her mom if she looks in the right place. Her Dad isn't so sure he wants to find her, but Sassy is determined. Sassy wonders: Is Mom nearby? Does she have a new life? Does she remember who I am?Sassy won't know unless the answers to her questions unless she musters her courage and knocks on the right door.
