Rustbucket has too many humanlike frailties. That's not a good trait for an almost omnipotent being composed of pure energy. He's managed to lock himself off the surface of the two planets he regulates. Unless he returns, the planets-Montibar and Grabin-could face extinction. To rectify the problem, Rustbucket intends to send an average earthling to Montibar where the solution lies. His choice is John Smith. John's not interested. All he wants is to earn a promotion and marry his girlfriend. And he's on-track to achieve his goals. But in the process of trying to convince John to help, Rustbucket upends John's life. With his future in a dumpster, surely things will improve for John if he agrees to a little thing like being disassembled and reconstructed on another world. Perhaps someone will love him on a different world. Or not.
