Bert the Owl Bat is a children's book about friendship. While it is always easy for people to be friends with those who look and act like them, it is not as easy in the animal world, especially when one of the animals is part of the food chain for the other. But Bert and Ollie make the decision to be friends. They are young and enjoy the carefree time of young people playing together...until danger and almost sure disaster suddenly interrupts their lives. There is no time to find help or think about what to do. They just do what comes naturally from their hearts and minds.
