After Detective Donovan receives the call that wealthy millionaire Barbara Stiverson has been brutally murdered, he knows solving this case will not be easy. Everyone who was close to her could be the killer, as millions of dollars are at stake and everyone wants their share. There is no doubt, in his mind, that this murder was close up and personal. A few weeks later, at a birthday celebration, Donovan watches as the guest of honor takes his last breath, falls to the floor, and dies.
