Georgia Lee Scott has spent most of her adult life in the historic town of St. Charles, Missouri, following the safe, traditional path she thought she was always meant to pursue. After all, life was just a mindless game of checking off boxes, and then you die.

Until she did.

To her horror, she finds herself in the hospital with no memory of what happened to her or the last three years she spent at her alleged place of employment. Even more puzzling are the memories she does have...when she was supposed to be dead.
