Ocher's Dawn is a western set in the late 1800's. To escape his profession as an assassin Ocher fakes his own death in a bold plan. Disguised as a merchant, he books passage to America but has to dive overboard before arriving in San Francisco. He is accompanied by a Crow Indian. The adventure continues when the pair meets up with a giant. Ocher and the Indian, Ojos, part company with the intent of meeting up later. Ollie, the giant takes Ocher under his wing. The saga continues across the desert, into the mountains ending up in a confrontation with Indians. Ocher must learn about emotions of friendship, loyalty and loneliness. He learns quickly that avoiding conflict is not always as easy as he wishes.
