Adam Church who later changes his name to David Shepherd is devastated when his parents are murdered. He has already lost his only sibling, a sister, and he now feels alone in a world, which to him seems to be getting more cruel and heartless. Having been a trained Army policeman and fighter in Afghanistan, an FBI agent, and an investigator for the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, he decides that he wants to use his skills and knowledge to make the world he lives in a better place. Even thought David is religious, the flaws in his character lead him to believe the only way he can improve his world is to destroy as much evil in it as he can. He sets out on a journey to do that as he sets up a business called The Repair Man. He contracts to change and destroy by hiring a small staff to keep him under the radar and often off the grid. This is a story of intrigue and redemption.
