Connecting a series of unrelated clues, David Marquez solves the mystery behind a treasure buried on a hillside in central New Mexico. Believing he has found the lost gold, he is threatened at gunpoint and denied access to the treasure site. Enlisting the help of a friend, they search for ways to access the treasure, and inadvertently stumble into the activities of an international partnership of illegal arms dealers. Interfering with the illegalities centered around an isolated ranch, they are confronted by the arms traffickers, and are threatened with violence and death unless they abandon their treasure hunt. Surviving a vicious assault, the treasure hunters intensify their efforts, and create an escalation in the hostile feud between them and the crooks that ends in a bloody gun fight. Approached by a joint task force of federal agencies, Dr. Marquez and his associate volunteer to help eradicate the larcenous organization. During an early morning confrontation, men die, and the arms trafficking partnership is destroyed. With the conflict resolved, David and his friend are free to recover the gold---but is it there?
