In England Clara is searching for answers to questions which have plagued her grandmother all her life. Granny B has never known anything about her family, both the maternal and paternal side being shrouded in mystery. Clara's search is echoed in America by Silas and his family, also caught up in the repercussions of the Titanic shipwreck as they too search for answers concerning a relative they also know little about.
