Being an HSP (Highly Sensitive Person) without anyone ever having noticed it. I also only knew it when I was fifty years old, thanks to my anthroposophical family doctor. The second World War had caused my parents trauma PTSD (PostTraumatic Stress Disorder), which they carried with them for the rest of their lives. My parents had been in Japanese prison camps, my father as military because he had served in the KNIL (Royal Dutch-East Indies Army) and my mother as citizen. They were not open to therapy. They had done their best, but the negative consequences, as a result, had uncomfortably affected our family life, which had led me personally to a prolonged burn-out. When I also showed dissociation and my neurotransmitters no longer worked well because of all the strained tension, I understood that I could only recover with difficulty. I have never known a warm family relationship. I have had suitable therapy treatments since 2015, which makes me more positive in life.
