There are some things you might immediately associate with horror. Vampires, werewolves, ghosts, and zombies are the usual suspects, and maybe some stories do take place on a dark and stormy night. But there are more subtle terrors. A face at the window, gone a moment later. A light turned on unexpectedly when you're alone in the house. Some small item out of place, when there's no explanation. And on the flip side of the same coin, there are stories of ghosts who are just lonely, and zombies who want nothing more than to be human. They want our pity rather than our terror, and fight against the conventions of their stories. These stories are one author's variations on the classic themes of horror. The darkest flickers of imagination, dredged up from the depths of the subconscious, and shared for the amusement of anyone brave enough to read them.
