It appears that Luna is noticing exactly what he was afraid of - that the chair is changing Onyx, and not for the better. After the successful revolution led by the Disturbers, the Upperworld now lies under the dominion of Onyx. Unfortunately, the current that provides the life energy for the orbs now runs through him, rendering him physically unable to leave the throne or touch anyone without immediately vaporizing them.
