Caitlyn Doherty, a fugitive from American justice, has made a decision . Recent glaring newscasts have chronicled the recent legal history of her former sidekick and friend, the notorious Sincerity Dawn Ward. Newly exposed evidence and testimony that led to a reduced sentence for the miscreant teen leads Caitlyn to hope that she too might achieve a reduced penalty for her own past misdeeds. A recent emailed contact with another former 'business associate' suggests there may have been a witness to disprove at least one of her Canadian charges of murder. If Caitlyn can travel across Canada undetected, she may even clear the American charge of slaying her former husband in Texas. Before such a trip she must first risk a modeling venture, in Vancouver, to gain the necessary legal defense funding. Not without incident and some rather entertaining escapes and scrapes, Caitlyn decides to stop by Indian River and check in with her old partner in crime, Sincerity Dawn ... a.k.a. Trouble Magnet #2. That proves to become a mistake. Shortly, Caitlyn is left with only one place to hide out - the Bride River Canyon - where legend states: 'people go in but people never come out'. As things transpire our fugitive discovers she is not alone - a noted surgeon and herbalist has invaded, prior her arrival. The resulting clash is epic - and a delightful source of humor. The heiress, Rose Reilly, became a noted photographer in the early 1950's for her work along the shores of Lake Wabaguin and its quaint townsite, Indian River. There her timber magnate father and brother Nathan run and rule both logging and gold mining empires. Unfortunately, Rose is the forerunner of the rebellion to blossom in the '60s. She has the misfortune of clashing with Michael O'Shea, fresh from the European bloodbath of WW2. Along with her step-mother, Kathleen, the ensuing years are a mixture of sorrow and drama until the arrival of 1997 when all issues must clarify or end. Then history climaxes, along with the characters in a solid dose of humor, romance and mystery.
