Grandad has run out of his Magic Dust so the grandchildren can't have any more adventures. They offer to make the missing alacamparanica but it needs a half-chewed sweet, powder from a butterfly wing, a tail of a lizard, nip of a crab, song of a robin, hiss of a snake and smile of a Viking. Join the grandchildren as they search for the ingredients. As the grandchildren add the ingredients to make the alacamparanica the mixture changes colour and they must quickly put it into a box that new colour. Will they find everything they need? It's nice to have a book that centres around children being the lead characters. She was a little worried about the lizard's tail ingredient, but we didn't get far enough for her to learn that it doesn't mean the lizard gets hurt!
