Most people agree that our departure from earth was caused by a combination of factors. There was a devastating war between monsters and supermen; ravenous political factions vying for power; and religious zealots saying one thing, and doing quite another. But in a nutshell, we were forced to evacuate the planet because of an uncomfortable feeling in the legs. We lost earth because of Restless Leg Syndrome. Just like that, in the blink of an eye, we became a dislocated species, adrift amongst the stars. Of course, there are those who feel that far deeper, more critical issues were to blame. Some feel that humanity, as a species, had devolved to a level of immaturity never before seen in our collective history. Others believe that our propensity toward overkill had reached terminal velocity. In actuality, this debate will likely continue until the end of time. But now, one man offers his unique perspective.
