The people of Agochie are the descendants of Nzekwe Ezeala Duruiheshie(1) and his brothers who became Aros about the year 1800, when they were adopted by Uche Izuogu. These Patriarchs were NZEKWE himself, OJIAKO (his nephew), EMEDIKE, ANUEBUNWA and EFEM. Agochie, which is the settlement occupied by the descendants of these patriarchs, is the seventh of the twelve villages that constitute Uche-Izuogu Autonomous Community and is located in the south-western segment of the territory of Ndiche Uno in Ideato North Local Government Area of Imo State, with its satellite settlements in locations in Okigwe and Onuimo Local Governments, such as Alaohuru, Ikpatu and Ndiotoko..
