This book is a newly revised and illustrated edition of "The Dolorous Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ," the book upon which the movie "The Passion of the Christ" was chiefly based. In it the reader will find a great and continual source for meditation on the sufferings that Our Lord willingly endured for the redemption of mankind. The visionary Anne Catherine Emmerich, beatified by Pope John Paul II in 2004, not only mystically experienced the events contained in the gospels but also many other events and words of Christ, the Blessed Virgin Mary, the apostles, and others.
