The Eternals have existed apart from the mortal world for generations, living their immortal lives in the confines of the city of Utopia. Their system of seclusion was in place to prevent humanity from discovering their existence, and, because of humanity's tendency to hate what it doesn't understand, drawing them into a war. One that humanity would not survive. All of that is put at risk with the discovery of Jasen Wells. He is an Eternal born from humans with no idea what he is or what he is capable of. A single mistake on his part could lead to the war that Eternals have spent lifetimes avoiding. Illyana Hartwick, the daughter of one of the leaders of Utopia, is sent to retrieve Jasen before his ignorance causes the Eternals' entire way of life to be threatened. Bringing him into the city, however, leads to more trouble than the Eternals expected, turning Utopia upside down.
