First off thank you for picking this little tome up and giving it a read. My first book, "Thoughts and Poems for the Common Educated Man" was written thirty years ago but I finally got the guts up to publish it online and in print. That, like this book, has layers if you will. Mostly it is new poems that I have written since the first book came out. It was and still is a release for me and in no way was I ever intending for it to make more than coffee money. I think like any art form you have out there it is or at least should be, an act of love as well as sweat and tears. Frankly, I hope I will do a decent job of entertaining you and possibly making you even think a little. I shot for a tad lighter sentiment with some of the poetry and stories but then again, my life has mostly been in the dark, and in the shadows, The first book was heavy and I get that, but I needed to get that out of my system instead of letting it fester for the last part of my life and the few years I have left on this little blue planet. There are more poems than the first book and I feel, like me, the writing has matured. Of course, there are some stories as well that deal with recruiting as that has been a big part of my life. Well, that is that as they say is that and I will not bore you with more words than needed. I will let the words speak for it as this too shall pass, and so shall we all.
