What is the psychological and political portrait of the 7th President of the Republic of Cyprus? Even before becoming President, after being in politics for more than 30 years, most analysts had come to know the virtues as well as weaknesses of this veteran politician from Limassol. Also as a lawyer and later owner of a big law office he showed ample evidence of his character, personality and modus operandi. Nicos Anastasiades was elected in 2013 with the motto "the President of the crisis" and most people counted on him to deal with the serious economic problems inherited by the gross negligent administration of his predecessor, the communist Christofias. During the Presidency of Nicos Anastasiades a deposits haircut (the only one ever in the world) took place and two historical banks disappeared, Laiki in 2013 and the COOP Bank in 2018.
