Students were encouraged to create their own monster-like characters and write short narratives, including details about the character's personality. Through this fun exercise students got to develop their personal and collective creativity while at the same time nourishing early reading and writing skills. The project draws inspiration from the 'Herman The Monster' series, which teaches children important moral lessons through the hopeful eyes of a tiny green monster with fuzzy purple slippers - Herman the Monster!
