Unexpected Father
Robert W Haeussinger
The year is 1977 race relations remain fragile. Interracial dating tolerated to a degree. Caught up in the turmoil are John David, a young white man and Mandy Johnson a young black woman. Both are graduate students about to receive Master degrees in their respective fields. They're two of the nicest people you'd ever want to meet. On a warm night in early May, the two would meet for the first time. The meeting would lead to an 'encounter' likely choreographed by some of their 'so called' friends. Nearly seven years following the birth of the twins Mandy goes looking for the father. John now finds himself in the unintended role of 'unexpected' father. The outcome is not what you think. It's both heartwarming and sad. This is their story.
