This is the story of Fergus Jerome, a 23-year-old, part-time graphic novelist, and a full-time student at UC Denver takes a part-time job at a Pharmco to interview Human Subjects in a research project for a new PTSD drug treatment. The hope is that their research to remove the memory of harmful events from veterans and victims of abuse will be successful without the need to develop expensive drugs and treatments. Their test subjects consist of previously documented people with H-SAMs, a Highly Superior Autobiographical Memory. People with H-SAMs remember everything from every day of her life, within a few months from birth. Fergus is paired with Holly Samtorini, a lovely, affable young woman. Both imagine the happy life they might have together and neither could understand the future they were about to discover what could possibly go wrong, often did.
