Part II of VIII in the series about PI Simon Fintch. Simon Fintch moves to New York, where he works as a private investigator with Bee Thomson. They get a murder case that the police hasn't had time or opportunity to solve. There are no clues, only that Mariella's husband Victor had committed a bank robbery a year before she was murdered. Victor and his accomplices all went to prison shortly after the bank robbery. They then became one by one murdered in prison. It's a big Mystery where the loot went and who the anonymous informer is that had informed the police that Victor was in charge of that robbery. The police are convinced that when they find Mariella's killer they will also find the loot from the bank robbery. It's an exiting time for Simon, who has never been in New York before. He makes a lot of new friends and he has quickly come to love New York. It doesn't take a long time before the rest of his family also comes over for a visit and after a while they will all move to New York.
