When Wendy accidentally stumbles onto a gold coin in the pine woods near her farm, she wonders if a tale she recently heard about a band of pirates decorating their loot as chocolate-covered candy is true. It seems a band of pirates robbed a ship carrying some very valuable gold coins and after they tried to disguise their treasure as candy a herd of deer ate them. After several deer are found slaughtered near her town, Wendy decides the story must be true. However, when Wendy starts having terrible nightmares about strange two-headed-undead-grotesque-deer monsters chasing her and demanding the return of the gold, she realizes that she might not be the only one in town who believes the story is true ... and searching for said treasure.
