Backbone is a collection of 74 poems dedicated to people who have shaped and build me. Split into two sections, the first section entitled 'shape' of the poetry volume focuses on my mixed race background and the relationship I have with my mum. The second part of the poetry volume entitled 'build' is a mixture of poems which are dedicated to one of my closest friends.
