This collection of short stories has the main theme of truth. As stated in the Afterword, "Truth is a pesky thing. Just about the time you think you've got it nailed, it morphs into something else." Each of the main characters in these stories discovers a new truth for themselves in ways they neither planned on nor expected. Some of these stories are total fiction, while others relief heavily on actual incidents experienced by the author or by persons known to the author. However, all locations and names included have been changed, and in most cases events that occurred in actual fact have been combined or put into totally new settings for creative effect. None of this is to suggest that truth is malleable, however, open to individual interpretation in a way that distorts reality. Currently we are experiencing social and political forces that promote 'fake news' and 'alternative facts.' This volume of stories is an attempt to do the opposite - reveal a deeper truth that lies beneath the surface. This is the ultimate purpose of each story included, along with the desire to entertain and inspire each reader.
