From Hurricane Katrina to the ugliness of the Iraq war to Trayvon Martin and Philando Castile's murders, parenting has required a new set of skill sets and conversations. Kelisa Wing takes readers on a journey of her and her childrens' lives, through anecdotes of American history from 2005 to the present. 'If I Could' is a journey about parenting while black and the lessons that we need to pass on to our children for their survival in a cruel and unjust world.
