Saving Face Azuri Kandaka
Saving Face
Azuri Kandaka
This book is an autobiography of my life and the struggles with scars on my face as a result of receiving tribal marks during a visit to a Yoruba African Village in South Carolina, USA. It details my challenges with self-image, depression, mental, physical, and sexual abuse. I explain my suicidal tendencies starting at an early age and the events before and after the scarification. I reveal the shocking story of my numerous attempts to remove the scars, religion, polygamist marriage, loss, and acceptance. Saving Face is about my journey through the difficult times and how I overcame them.
