Alyss Glas
This fictional memoir is set in the 1970's on the Sydney Waterfront. Alyss is the first female Boarding Officer in Customs on the waterfront and is considered 'Alice in Wonderland' - in a highly desirable job. She is confronted by a work environment with no real understanding of how to operate within it. There are many challenges, not the least being women working in traditional male areas, as well as new pressures from the drugs problems, organised crime and international terrorism.
