Pole is the story of a young boy whose family is killed when their village is invaded. He is taken to a re-educationcamp and Sovietised. He escapes and makes his way through Russia and to British linesin Turkey. In typical Polish fashion he refuses tobe bowed down or beaten and starts a new life in South Africa. This is a story of brutality and kindness, hope amidst the ashes ofdespair and the soaring story of humanity at its best and worst.
