Gillian and Cody Yarbrough are newlyweds. Having bounced around in foster care and adopted as a kid, Cody understands Gillian's struggle with giving up her child for adoption when she was a teenager. At twenty-six, Gillian is just now returning to college to finish her bachelor's degree and tries to make peace with decisions and mistakes made in her past. Now married, she desperately wants to start a family with her new husband, only she isn't getting pregnant as easily as she did in high school. She holds a grudge against her ex-boyfriend because she had to forgo her athletic and academic scholarships to have their baby, a baby he doesn't know exists, while he went on with his life as planned. Their paths cross again, and Gillian is faced with choosing revenge or forgiveness.
