When his father dies as the result of a crippling mining accident with dynamite, young, ambitious, explosives engineer Walter Crombie, is determined to seek revenge and bring down the South African explosives manufacturer he holds responsible. His ambitions are thwarted when the Monopoly aggressively buyout his employer and he is forced to abandon his mission. Until, that is, a new American competitor with grand ambitions of their own, enters the lucrative South African open-pit mining market. By joining them, Crombie finds a second chance to pursue his quest of eliminating the use and manufacture of dynamite and destroying the domination of the Monopoly. From hazardous deep level gold mines and treacherous underground coal and copper mines, to clandestine military manoeuvres, Crombie teams up with beautiful scientist Teresa Patterson, to spearhead field trials with new explosives technology. At a time of major political and social upheaval in South Africa and the ever-looming threat of economic sanctions, their vision is, that one day, mining and explosives manufacturing will be far less hazardous occupations.
