The name Sudoku comes from Japan . Su means number. Doku means single. However, not started in Japan. Sudoku originated in Switzerland. Traveled to Japan by way of America. The main idea is to have numbers 1 - 9 visible only once in a linear column. Many find Sudoku puzzles can engage a player in a hypnotic state using the brain connection. No math involved. Just a good way to relax and use your mind at the same time. Many claim Sudoku Improves concentration as well.
