This is an interesting and sometimes heartrending story of a bright school boy under the care of two old people. The boy, having in mind the limitations of old age, makes a calculated move to provide for some of his needs. He travels to a foreign land with a a family friend in search of clothing. While in the foreign land, he discovers that though he is destined to achieve his goal, perseverance has to see him through. On returning back to school, none of his classmates are aware of his absence and the kind of work he did on vacation. This enables him to lead a normal school life. After his successful completion of primary education, he begins a long and convoluted journey that takes him to offices and a search of his parent in an effort to start and complete his secondary education. His struggles yield little but his grandparents;although poor, they successfully take him back to school. The young man's endeavour to reduce dependency lands him a job in a business of a trusted person who eventually exploits and enslaves him. After realising his status, he leaves and goes again to the foreign land where he is employed as a casual worker. He uses the wages earned to book a train to a famed city in search of employment. While in the city, he receives information that his higher education admission letter, on a government sponsorship, has been received. His resignation letter brings to an end a factory job he had become accustomed to.
