Autobiography of a Rogue Warrior chronicles the training and exploits of an elite soldier specializing in airborne, amphibious, and underwater commando operations. A Samurai of the 21st Century, his guiding principles are duty, honor, and loyalty. Initially trained as an officer in the Royal Marines Commandos, his career begins with the most rigorous and lengthy initial training period of any military service on earth. As and outstanding marksman with combat experience in the Falklands he receives specialized training in intelligence gathering and special operations deep behind enemy lines, and then takes command of a platoon of reconnaissance operatives and snipers. Subsequent to a year as an exchange officer with the US Marines, the protagonist trains and serves first with the Army's Special Air Service (SAS) and then with the Navy's Special Boat Service (SBS), where he is thoroughly indoctrinated in all aspects of special operations, both military and naval, and then has the opportunity to put these skills to use during Operation Desert Storm. Then, leaving behind the official ranks of the armed forces at the conclusion of the first War in Iraq, he is recruited into an ultra-secret organization founded by a consortium of intelligence agencies within the Western Alliance, whose purpose is to perform a host of deniable or 'black' operations in defense of the Free World. Further training by the international intelligence fraternity add espionage tradecraft to his bag of tricks. Then for more than twenty years, he serves with an international team of soldiers and spies who specialize in clandestine operations throughout the world during times of war and peace. Recurrent themes include counter-insurgency, counter-terrorism, hostage rescue, operations behind enemy lines, and prevention of the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. Over a multi-decade career, numerous black operations are conducted in support of American, British, and Israeli interests throughout the world, none of which have before been revealed to the public. Several of these dangerous and highly complex missions are described for the first time in these pages.
