In early 1915 German declared unrestricted U-Boat warfare against all shipping entering the war zone around the British Isles. The community of nations protested but did nothing. When on May 7, 1915, undersea boat U-20 fired a single torpedo into the RMS Lusitania, its secret cargo of munitions from America exploded in a sympathetic detonation. Within twenty minutes, the liner, 1,200 passengers and crew rested on the bottom of the Irish Sea. Millie Baker, a deep cover agent for a small island nation, drowned in cabin B 34.
