Our intrepid heroes venture forth for their first year of studies at the University of Sydney Oceanographic Institute. Follow them as they become embroiled in a plot to enslave young indigenous men to work in an illicit opal mine. In the process of freeing them they make an amazing discovery, one that leads them into a conflict several thousand years old. A battle for the last refuge of a scientific and cultural research project under the ice of Antarctica, home of visitors from another world.
