Lieutenant Aislain NicArall never wanted to join the Varonian Militia, but given the option between that and going to prison, the Frost Elf chose police-work. The bare minimum of police-work. A joiner in his homeland of Anachalben, he wants nothing more than to get back to his fiancé and his workshop. Until then, there's always beer to keep him occupied. He is accompanied on his rounds by his friend and assistant, Connie. Born into a landed nobility family, she has adjusted to the authorities incorrectly believing her dead by dressing as a 'Pagan' and imitating the wild folk of Kilmajuk, with mixed success. Constance reads and writes Varonian impeccably, while Aislain has no interest in learning to read the Human language. He does, however, have a knack of solving crimes by deduction and logical reasoning, but more often solves crimes using violence, as it's quicker. As a Frost Elf, he's looked down on by most nobles as being a violent, savage foreigner. To certain elements he's a potential asset, however and he's drawn into a conspiracy which may change the course of Varonian history forever. It'll probably make him late to the pub as well.
