Amaryllis is a small angel who wears glasses. She loves to read and frequently upsets her choir director and Gabriel because she tends to forget the time while reading, and is often late for rehearsals. The Heavenly Host Choir is scheduled to sing for the First Christmas, and Amaryllis has been late one too many times ... She has been sent to Gabriel and he gives her the bad news that she cannot participate. Upset herself now, Amaryllis, while still on Gabriel's cloud, overhears a prayer request from a tired mother and decides to see if she can help out. This mother is named Mary, and her Son is the whole reason for the First Christmas.
