This book is compiled of five short stories with the setting at Christmas during various time periods. Same Place, Another Time is a story of a soldier training to deploy to Germany during World War II. He falls in love with a local girl, but when he returns to the town after the war, she has disappeared. As the Snow Flies is a story about a young woman who just got married, but her husband was sent to fight in Germany during World War II. In her loneliness she writes her feelings and puts the paper in a book of poetry. The writing was in this book when it was inherited by a family member. A Gift of a Second Chance is a story of an orphan who chose to live on the streets instead of with a foster family. He knows he made a horrible mistake, but he couldn't go back. A second chance changed things. Follow the Star is a story of the Holy Family and their time going to Bethlehem and speculation of the town's reaction to the birth of Christ. The Last Christmas is a story of events in the author's life leading up to her mother's last Christmas and her battle with cancer.
