The purpose for this book, is to help the modern day reader understand the context of Matthew, just one example: In Matthew 2 Jesus was taken to Nazareth in order to fulfill the prophecy, the problem is that Nazareth is not mentioned in the Old Testament. Any 1st century Jew would understand the language of Matthew & its meanings, they would have no problems with it. But for the modern reader it's a huge problem, so what I do is solve this problem & others like it. An example is the following in regards to the Nazareth dilemma: The answer is quite simple: "Nazareth" means "Guarded" & in Isaiah 11:1 we are given the prophecy of the "branch" of Jesse. Branch in Hebrew it's "netser" & it means "guarded". Now we can understand & fully appreciate what Matthew is saying.
