BROKEN CREEK follows two gold miners, Jacob Daleman and Nelson Washington, working a small claim outside the town of Broken Creek, Montana in 1856. Panning, they uncover a silver box buried in the stream on their claim. While trying to sell the box they discover that it is in fact a very old dybbuk box containing a powerful demon imprisoned by the church during the time of the Romans. The demon is released, and one of the miners is possessed. Working with the Sheriff of Broken Creek the other miner, a veteran of the Mexican-American war, along with a priest from the ancient order of the church that imprisoned the demon, battle the monster, and its followers in an attempt to put the beast back into its prison. The fight comes full circle when they discover that they did not find the box, rather, it found him. Treachery, deceit, and violence take hold as secrets are unmasked, and the history of the demon in the box, leading all the way back to the fall of Masada is revealed. No one is who they seem to be when the box that cannot be opened, is opened, in Broken Creek!
