A Chosen Generation
Earl R Young
The foundation of this story is the struggle of my family to survive and give a greater life to their future generations. My family were share croppers and very poor financially. The struggles they faced were almost insurmountable. They faced lynching and a major race riot in 1930 that could've destroyed any hope of getting out. Through faith in God and a relationship in Jesus Christ we overcome. My grandfather the Late Elder David Wren Sr. and his five brothers produce children that are productive to society and humanity. We are a multicultural family that believe that love is the only hope to defeating hate. I am the youngest of seven children. I was born in Lake Charles, La. I attended Brownsville Elementary School in Lake Charles, La. I moved to San Francisco, Ca. in 1969 and attended Herbert Hoover Jr. High. I attended Polytech/ Eugene McAteer High. I completed my education at Skyline Jr. College in San Bruno, Ca. in 1978. I love watching sports, and playing whenever possible. I also enjoy writing and performing music. I 've been blessed to travel Europe on a two week singing tour while in High School in 1972. Have recorded records by the grace and will of God. I was inspired to write this book as I began to see the handy work of God on my family. It took 43 years for me to see God's hand upon a chosen generation.
