The Understudy
Brendan Jesus
Recent collegiate, Sarah Banion moves to The Big Apple with aspirations of becoming an artist - but with every vice comes its versa, as Sarah's dreams are paralleled by nightmares, manifested from her intrinsic dysmorphia and self-doubt. In efforts of improvement, she pairs herself with an idyllic boyfriend, who cares for little more than a little more of everything: Booze, ass, laughs. Having a fixation on a smile that is almost always forced or forged, Sarah neglects her health in hopes of supporting her appearance. After visiting dentistry and director alike, Sarah auditions for a production that will forever alter her life, as well as end the lives of a few others; all this, in attempt to make connections that may very well be illusory.
