Jesus' Olivet Discourse is designed to prepare the believer for the tribulation of the latter days and to face the Lord at the last judgment. While chapters in the Bible have divided the teachings into two parts, we need to remember that it is one dialogue and many tend to focus on Matthew twenty-four at the exclusion of what the author believes is what Jesus' intended to be the most important part of His instructions: the spiritual condition of His people. God wants us to be prepared for the future. Being spiritually prepared, remaining close to the Lord at all times, enables us to face whatever comes our way in this present hour, which also maybe the last generation.
