Anoka Minnesota Police Dog King was the first police dog to be use effectively in the Minneapolis/St. Paul Metropolitan Area in the 1960's. His success led to the development of police dog units in a five state area surrounding Minnesota. He received numerous awards for his criminal apprehensions, and a local newspaper reporter referred to him as the Rin Tin Tin of the Anoka Police Department. Upon his death the City of Anoka named a park after him(King Memorial Park), and a lifesize was placed there in his honor. In 2018 he was inducted as an honoree in the National Law Enforcement Museum in Washington DC.
